Vegelicious is back

Posted 06 Sep 2025

From this Thursday, 11th September, parents will once again be able to take part in our fantastic ‘Vegelicious scheme’, buying a bag of fruit and vegetables for £2.

The scheme, made possible through our partnership with Fareshare, an organisation who are on a mission to tackle food insecurity and reduce food waste across our city region and beyond.

The Vegelicious scheme was introduced after they were told of the need for more fresh fruit and vegetables within the communities they serve. FareShare Greater Manchester secured support through DEFRA’s ‘Surplus with Purpose’ funding which enabled them to receive an increased amount of fresh produce iwhich they then sell in bulk to community organisations including schools such as ours.

Payments need to be made via the Schoolgateway app by midnight on Wednesdays so that Sharon Drinkwater, our Parent Support Adviser, and her team of amazing volunteers, can make the bags up during the school day, ready for collection from 2:30 pm on Thursdays.

To find out more please speak to Sharon.

If you have not yet downloaded the School Gateway App, please speak to Stuart ot Tracey in the office who will help you to get set up.
