Welcome to the Academic Year 2021/22

Dear Parents and Families,

We hope everyone had a good holiday and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday. We will keep our staggered times so that we can reduce the volume of people on the school grounds:

Children in reception start at 8.55am and finish at 2.55pm

Children in Year 1 and 2 start at 9am and finish at 3pm

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 start at 8.45am and finish at 3.10pm.

If you have children in younger and older age groups (e.g. Y1 and Y3) the start time for all children is then 8.45am and the finish time is 3pm.

As we know, Covid guidance changed in July and again in August. Please see the changes and the list of what will remain in September. We would ask families to be mindful of taking measures to protect others, such as regular Lateral Flow tests and ensuring that no one, adult or child, comes to school if they have Covid symptoms.

What will change?

Previous guidance regarding social distancing has been removed and therefore measures around class bubbles/pods will no longer be required. However for many classes, the integrity of children working mainly with their class or phase will remain.
Requirements regarding self isolation for those under 18 and adults that are double vaccinated.
Breakfast and After School club will return to one group.
Full uniform to be worn each day. Children are to bring in PE kits and leave in their locker / coat peg.

What will remain?

All school hygiene measures and cleaning protocols.
Open windows in all rooms and corridors,
Lateral Flow Testing twice weekly for staff.
PCR tests for symptomatic children and adults.
Self isolation for symptomatic children and adults unless a negative PCR is received.
The same school starting and finishing times (to be reviewed)
Same staggered KS2 playground and lunchtimes but no requirement to keep children separate.
Remote assemblies to continue.
Office protocols, please telephone or email rather than come into the school office. Please wear a face covering if you come into the school building.
Class emails for communication with your child’s teacher.
Remote learning for children self isolating.
Lunchtime seating to separate classes.

We will continue to work in partnership with families. The class handbook will be issued next week and this will give further details.
