Water Saving Quiz leads to european family holiday for Barlow Hall Child
Last May the Bathroom Takeaway Company brought their 'Water Saving Bus' to Barlow hall as part of an initiative they were running to help children to learn ways in which they could save water at home using a variety of games and activities. a the end of the session all of the children were given a water saving goodie bag and a monitoring sheet to record water usage at home.
Each child recorded how much water was used at home and then brought their monitoring form back into school an the child who used the least water in each class then won a family pass to the Play Factore.
A winning entry was then chosen by the Bathroom Takeaway company from the class entries and submitted into a further round of competition entries from other participating schools which gave them the opportunity to win a Eurocamp holiday to France.
Cayo Wilson, a pupil here at Barlow Hall, was the child from Barlow Hall whose entry went forward to the final draw against winners from other schools, and Cayo was the lucky winner of the prize draw family trip to one of Eurocamp's holday centres.
On Monday school was visited by members of staff from the Bathroom Takeaway company and reporters from Manchester TV who, along with Mrs Holden, our Deputy Head, surprised Cayo not only with the news that he was the winning entrant but that he had won the fantastic main prize. Cayo's family, who were aware of the win, also surprised Cayo by attending Monday's Celebration Assembly to see the look on his face when he was awarded his prize and take part in the televised interview with Cayo.
Thank you very much to the Bathroom Takeaway for giving pupils the chance to win such a fantastic prize and to Mrs Arrevillagas for co-ordinating the event in school and agreeing to take part in the tv interview.
