Science Day at Barlow Hall

We celebrated national Science week at Barlow Hall last Friday. Anna Moylan, an SLE from Chorlton High school, did some exciting experiments with KS1 and upper KS2- including making real sparklers with magnesium and iron sulphate! The children in KS2 also enjoyed a visit from Wonder Dome. They entered a huge indoor planetarium in our school hall and were wowed by the planets and galaxies that were projected across the ceiling. The interactive talk really deepened the children's understanding of Space. As well as many other exciting activities across the school, year 5 and 6 have attended Manchester University to experience a day within the University labs. They worked with microscopes and professors to explore a range of topics linked to our school curriculum. Keep posted for the winners of the week's competition.
