Remembering the fallen

Barlow Hall Primary school will commemorate Remembrance Day this Friday, 11th November, with 2 minutes silence  during a whole school assembly and Year 6 pupils will be attending a Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial at Southern Cemetery on the same day.

Pupils from Barlow Hall have also been working with Artist-in-residence, Clare Law and a ceramic artist, in order to create a commemorative artwork to make a medal for each of the soldiers named on the war memorial at Christ church West Didsbury (on the Parkway) as part of the centenery commemorations of the Battle of the Somme. The artwork will be displayed at Christ Church during a short Remembrance Service which will take place at 11 am on Sunday November 20th and 10 pupils from Barlow Hall will take part in the service by reading out the names of the fallen soldiers named on the memorial and for whom they have made a medal.

Family, friends and members of the local community are invited to attend.
