Our Streets Chorlton - Have your say

Jo and Jess and Henry, from Sustrans, the active travel charity have just begun a new project with Barlow Hall School, as partners in Our Streets Chorlton, the community climate action project. You can find out more about this here - https://ourstreetschorlton.co.uk/.

At Barlow Hall we want to make arrival at the school gate safer, by reducing car traffic. If fewer parents and staff drive every day, this will help to reduce air pollution at the gate, improve road safety at drop-off and pick-up, and give all the health benefits of walking, cycling or scooting to school.

We have already provided video lessons during lockdown, and from now until June we will be doing a few more fun things with the children, including our Big Streets Survey lessons and Street Design workshops with years 5-6.

Our first task with parents, carers and staff is to understand more about the pleasures and challenges of your journeys to and from school. We have put together an online travel survey which will go out to all of the school communities in Chorlton, and we will look at the results from Barlow Hall in particular. Please do complete the survey, which should take about 5 minutes. It closes on Monday 31st May but we would appreciate it if you would complete the questions before Friday 7th May so that we can feed back what you told us before the Big Street Survey lessons.
