Healthy Packed Lunch Ideas

At Barlow Hall we are a healthy school and our priority for this year is healthy eating.

We would like to remind you that the only snack that children can bring to school to have at break time is fruit. Children do not need to bring a drink as they have a water bottle provided in class.

Our school meals are nutritionally balanced and include fruit and vegetables in each meal.

 If you send your child with a packed lunch please make sure it contains some fresh fruit or vegetables.  


These foods make great Healthy Lunches:

Ham, cheese egg sandwiches, Rice salad, brown bread, humus and dips,

Carrot sticks, celery, tomatoes, fresh fruit, rice cakes, raisins.


These food can be included occasionally:  small chocolate bar, a small bag of potato snacks


These foods are not allowed:  fizzy drinks, high sugar drinks, chocolate bars, donuts, large bags of crisps.
