Topic
Our whole school topic this half term is Our Home. In Year 4, we will be looking at Chorlton and comparing it with Castleton in the Peak District. We will be analysing how the land is used and comparing physical features. We will explore real and digital maps of different variations, including the use of OS symbols. We will be visiting Castleton to be able to make real life comparisons with Chorlton, carrying out field work in both places.
English
We will complete our work in English through different texts. This half term, we will read the text ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark,’ by Jill Tomlinson. The children love our class novels; they bring our learning to life.
